Buenas noticias:

Como sabes toda la "Rework Series" iba destinada a regrabar algunos de mis primeros temas que consideraba que sufrían de una producción mejorable. Una vez completada, he vuelto a compilar todos mis álbumes con las versiones finales de cada uno de los temas, y los he colgado todos aquí.

No sólo podreis escuchar y descargar todos los álbumes en sus versiones definitivas, sino que también están disponibles en formato FLAC, es decir, audio sin pérdida de calidad, al contrario que los MP3.

Todos los álbumes con el añadido "Definitive Version" en el título contienen temas modificados (En la "Rework Series" o en las recopilaciones) con respecto a las versiones originales.

Especialmente interesantes considero "El Hombre Que Venia del Siglo XX" y "El Astrouanta" / "The Astronaut", que he vuelto a mezclar por completo especialmente para esta ocasión.

Espero que disfruteis de ellos. Estas son, por fin, las versiones definitivas.

Good news:

As you know all the "Rework Series" was aimed to re-record some of my older tracks that I considered were suffering of a poor production. Once completed, I have compiled all my albums again with the final versions of every track, and you can find them all here.

Not only you can listen and download all the albums in their definitive versions, but they also are available in FLAC format, which means, quality lossless audio, in opposition to MP3.

All the albums with the phrase "Definitive Version" added to the title contain modified tracks (On the "Rework Series" or in the compilations) from their original versions.

I consider of special interest "El Hombre Que Venia del Siglo XX" and "El Astrouanta" / "The Astronaut", which have a brand new mix specially developed for this oacasion.

I really hope you enjoy them. These are, at last, their definitive versions.

Recordando 2009... / Recalling 2009...

Como hice el año pasado, resumo a continuación todo lo que ha dado de sí 2009 en cuanto a mi producción musical. Para empezar, este año publiqué tres álbumes propios:

Mirando atrás, lo que más me gusta de estos álbumes es lo diferentes que son. Ya sabeis que intento siempre no repetirme y sorprender a quienes me hacen el favor de seguirme.

Además de los tres álbumes, 2009 ha sido el año de las colaboraciones. He colaborado en cuatro proyectos de distinto modo: Tocando teclados con Blue Spirits II, aportando sendos temas inéditos para Babel Sin Fronteras y Free Guitars 2, e incluso un pequeño solo de piano (¡flamenco!) en Free Guitars 1.

También fue éste el año de Ear3, el grupo virtual que formamos PeerGynt LoboGris, Gael Berthon, BlondBlood y un servidor, y que ha publicado tres temas de corte prog-rock:

La verdad es que para un año creo que no está nada mal. Además, PeerGynt LoboGris diseñó un logo que me permitió cambiar las portadas de todos mis álbumes de modo que sea fáciles de reconocer, y que seguiré usando en el futuro.

Para acabar, abrí mi propio canal de YouTube, en el que incluí, como no podía ser de otro modo, la animación que Butcho preparo con fragmentos de "El Astronauta".

En resumen, ha sido un gran año, gracias a todos vosotros, y me siento muy agradecido y satisfecho. En el último post de este año os hablaré de mis plantes para 2010.

As I did last year, I go to summarize all 2009 has brought in terms of my music. As a start, I released three new albums:

Looking back, what I like the most about those albums is how different they are. You know I try not to repeat myself and surprise those who honour me by following my work.

Apart from that, 2009 was the year of collaborations. I contributed to four projects in several ways: Playing keyboards for Blue Spirits II, lending two unreleased tracks for Babel Sin Fronteras and Free Guitars 2, and even with a little piano solo ( flamenco!) in Free Guitars 1.

This also was the year of Ear3, the virtual group formed by PeerGynt LoboGris, Gael Berthon, BlondBlood and myself, which has released three prog-rock tracks so far:

I honestly think it's not bad at all for one year. Besides, PeerGynt LoboGris designed a new logo which allowed me to change all my old album covers so they are easier to recognise, and which I'll keep on using in the future.

To finish, I opened my own YouTube channel, in which I included Butcho's fantastic animation made from excerpts of "The Astronaut".

In sum, it's been a great year because of your support, and I feel really grateful and satisfied. In my last 2009 post I'll tell you my plans form 2010.

Breves notas sobre "El Día Mejor" / Brief Notes about "El Día Mejor"

Algunos de los temas de este álbum tratan de mis sentimientos como padre y como hijo, así como de recuerdos de mi infancia. Por eso se lo dedico a mi hijo David y a mis padres.

"La Voz del Silencio" está inicialmente inspirada en el texto del mismo título de Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer

"El Trovador" está dedicada a la memoria de Eric Woolfson, cuyas melodías tenía en mente mientras la componía, y que murió al poco de finalizarla.

"El hombre de Volos" es un homenaje a Vangelis. Volos es el lugar donde nació.

En uno de los episodios de los Simpsons, el avaro jefe de la central nuclear, el señor Burns, rueda un corto. En una de sus escenas aparece montando a caballo, pero en lugar de cabalgar el caballo lo tira y lo arrastra por el suelo. Burns confiesa que hicieron decenas de tomas y esa fue la que mejor quedó. Algo similar ocurre con "El Día Mejor", hice muchas tomas cantando, y pese al resultado, os aseguro que ésta es la que mejor quedó. Me temo que soy tan buen cantante como el señor Burns buen jinete.

Some of the tracks in this album relate to my feelings as a father and as a son, as well as to childhood memories. That's why I dedicate this album to my son David and my parents.

"La Voz del Silencio" was initially inspired by the text of the same title by Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer

"El Trovador" is dedicated to the memory of Eric Woolfson, whose melodies whose melodies were in my mind while composing, and who died shortly after its completion.

Something similar happens with "El Mejor Día", Despite singing a lot of takes, and despite the outcome, I assure you that the best one remained. I fear I'm as good singer as Mr. Burns is a good horseman.

Noticias sobre el nuevo álbum / Some updates on my new album

Mi próximo álbum está casi terminado. Si nada lo impide, espero poder publicarlo, como muy tarde, la semana que viene. Consta de diez temas cortos, y si Siderea era un viaje por el espacio éste álbum es absolutamente terrenal.

Mi idea inicial era hacer un álbum muy acústico, con muchas guitarras y ningún sonido "electrónico", salvo pianos y los que emulan instrumentos reales. Se iba a titular "Simple". Pero, como siempre, la cosa ha cambiado un poco y, aunque sigue siendo principalmente acústico, alguno de los temas se han complicado lo bastante como para que ese nombre sea engañoso. De modo que el título será "El día mejor", que es el nombre del tema que cierra el álbum.

En este álbum me he atrevido a hacer cosas que hasta ahora no me había atrevido a hacer, y que probablemente la vergüenza me obligue a no repetir.

Unos cuantos de los temas me los ha inspirado mi hijo, lo que significa ser padre y los recuerdos de la infancia. Aunque hay temas un poco nostálgicos, creo que el álbum puede dejar una sensación agradable y optimista al escucharlo o, al menos, espero que así sea.

En unos días saldré de dudas.

My upcoming album is almost over. If nothing happens I expect to release it next week, the latest. It contains ten short tracks and, while Siderea was a journey through space, this new album is absolutely earthly.

Mi original idea was making an unplugged album, with lots of guitars and no electronic sounds, other than pianos and those that emulate real instruments. Its name was going to be "Simple". But, as usual, things have changed a little and, though still mainly acoustic, some of the themes evolved enough to make that name no longer valid. And so, its title will be "El Día Mejor" ("The Best Day"), which is also the title of the closing track.

In this album I dared to do things I didn't dare to do so far, and which shame will probably keep me from doing again in the future.

Some of these numbers were inspired by my son, the meaning of fatherhood and my childhood memories. Although there are nostalgic music, I think the album will leave a pleasant and optimistic mood, or at least I hope so.

In a few days I'll find out.

Ear3 - "Orbital Ellipses"

Ear3 acaba de publicar su nuevo tema: "Orbital Ellipses". Se trata de un homenaje a grandes grupos del rock progresivo clásico: Pink Floyd, Marillion (Y por tanto Genesis), King Crimson... Estoy muy contento con el resultado, y más teniendo en cuenta que en esta ocasión he producido el tema y he tenido un papel más importante en la composición.

El tema incluye samples del discurso "lunar" de John F. Kennedy del 25 de Mayo de 1961, así como del despegue del transbordador Challenger del 28 de Enero de 1986, que acabó con la explosión del mismo y la muerte de sus tripulantes.

Mi objetivo ahora es acabar mi nuevo álbum antes de 2010.. ¿lo lograré?

Ear3 has just released their new song: "Orbital Ellipses". It's a tribute to great classic prog-rock groups: Pink Floyd, Marillion (Which means Genesis), King Crimson... I'm very happy with the result, more knowing in this ocasion I've produced the track, and I played a more prominent role in the composition.

The track includes samples from the infamous "moon" speech by John F. Kennedy from May 25th 1961, as well as from the launching of the Space Shuttle Challenger on January 28th 1986, wich ended with the explosion of the shuttle and the death of all the astronauts.

My objective now is to finish my next album before 2010.. Will I make it?

Nuevo Canal en Youtube / New YouTube Channel

Los más observadores os habreis fijado en los enlaces del lado derecho que he añadido un enlace a mi nuevo canal de youtube. En él podreis encontrar videos realizados por mí o por cualquiera que quiera hacer uno, con música mía, tanto ya conocida como inédita o a ser publicada en álbumes futuros.

Ahora mismo ya hay colgadas un par de cosas: La animación que hizo Butcho basada en el álbum "The Astronaut", dividida en tres partes, y un tema nuevo, que aparecerá en mi próximo álbum. Aunque el álbum va a tener muchas guitarras acústicas, este tema es fundamentalmente para piano. Se titula "El Hombre de Volos", y es un homenaje a mi admirado Vangelis. Los vídeos los podeis ver al final de la entrada.

Maybe some of you have realized a new link on the right side of the blog, directing to my new youtube channel. There you'll find videos made by myself or anyone who wants to contribute, using my music, already published or even unreleased or from upcoming albums.

Right now there are a couple of things: Butcho's animation inspired on "The Astronaut", splitted in three, and an unreleased new song taken from my upcoming new album. Though the album will be rich in acoustic guitars, this track is basically just piano. Its title is "The Man From Volos", and it's a tribute to my admired Vangelis.

FG3 - Guitars that rule the free world

Free Guitars es un proyecto sin ánimo de lucro creado por PeerGynT LoboGris. En él se pretende una reunión de guitarristas de la música libre. Todos los temas con sus respectivas licencias Creative Commons pertenecen a cada uno de los artistas que en él participan, así como sus derechos comerciales.

El álbum es una maravilla y merece la pena a pesar de mi participación. Los músicos son todos fantásticos y el resultado es realmente brillante y variado.

Ya tuve el gusto de contribuir con un pequeño solo de piano en uno de los temas del primer volúmen, pero para este segundo he cedido un tema nuevo ("Mirando al horizonte") en el que, como no podía ser de otro modo, predomina la guitarra. No doy ni mucho menos la talla, pero Lobo acabó convenciéndome, de modo que ahí estoy. Lo que sí os anuncio es que el tema sirve de anticipo de lo que vais a encontrar en mi próximo álbum, que se encuentra en proceso de grabación.

Free Guitars is a non-profit project created by PeerGynT LoboGris. It tries to unite free music guitar players. All tracks with their own Creative Commons licenses are owned by each one of the participating artists.

The album is wonderful and totally worth your time, despite my participation. All musicians are really fantastic and the result is brilliant and varied.

I had the pleasure of contributing with a tiny piano solo in one of the tracks of Volume 1, but in this second I have given a brand new theme ("Looking at the horizon") in which, as you can guess, guitar prevails. I'm not good enough at all, but Lobo persuaded me, so there I am. What I can announce you is that this track can be taken as an advance to the kind of sound you'll find on my next album, which is is being recorded at the moment.
