Nuevo tema de Ear3: "Where Space Ends" / New Ear3 Track: "Where Space Ends"

Acaba de publicarse el nuevo tema de Ear3: "Where Space Ends". Un tema compuesto por PeerGynt Lobogris que de alguna manera cierra una primera etapa en la música del grupo. Incorpora algunos guiños y referencias a temas anteriores, y acaba con un solo de guitarra "in crescendo" que pone los pelos de punta.

We have just released a new Ear3 track: "Where Space Ends". Composed by PeerGynt LoboGris, somehow it closes a first stage in the group sound. It includes some nods and references to previous themes, and ends with a "In crescendo" guitar solo that brings chills to ths spine.

Recordando 2010

Este 2010 ha sido un año de cierre de ciclo, de ordenar y arreglar las cosas antes de empezar con otras nuevas. Publiqué un álbum de material nuevo, "The Future is Over"

y a continuación empecé a echar la vista atrás, para cerrar bien esta etapa. Primero publiqué un álbum con temas inacabados o no publicados en ninguno de mis álbumes:

El siguiente paso fue repasar todas mis grabaciones ant eriores, buscando temas cuya grabación me pareciera mejorable. Ésto dio lugar a la "Rework Series", unos cuantos EPs con temas antiguos regrabados y rearreglados en versiones que considero ya definitivas:

Y, por último, publiqué una recopilación con una selección de mis temas más populares con alguna versión nueva:

De ese modo cierro una primera etapa y me tomo un descanso en busca de nueva inspiración, y para empezar a aprender cosas nuevas (Entre ellas, a tocar la guitarra eléctrica).

El proyecto Ear3 sigue adelante. Este año publicamos otros tres temas:

Además de todo ello, se publicaron numerosos vídeos en youtube con música mía, y el número de escuchas subió más que nunca, rozando ya las 300.000 totales, más de la mitad de este 2010.

Quedan pendientes de publicar una colaboración con Yvalain y los nuevos temas de Ear3, que sigue adelante.

Volveré sin prisa, espero que con nuevas ideas y un mejor sonido, cuando llegue el momento. Hay otros proyectos intensos esperando este 2011, no precisamente musicales.

Lo que viene / What's coming

En estos momentos estoy metido de lleno en varios proyectos propios y colaboraciones:

- Una colaboración al teclado en un tema del próximo álbum de mi amigo Yvalain

- Otro solo de teclado para uno de los nuevos temas de PeerGynt LoboGris

- La grabación del nuevo tema de Ear3, después de "Guests of the Water Planet"

- Completar una colaboración con PeerGynt LoboGris que seguramente dará lugar a una nueva entrega del Rework Series, pese a que la dí por concluída (Sería la última)

- Y completar el recopilatorio con el que pondré fin a esta etapa y me tomaré un descanso en la publicación de música por un tiempo.

Os iré informando puntualmente de la publicación de cada uno de ellos.

On these days I'm working full-time in several projects and collaborations:

- I'll be playing some keyboard in one of the tracks of my friend Yvalain's next album

- Another keyboard solo in one of the tracks of the upcoming album by PeerGynt LoboGris

- The recording of the new theme by Ear3, after "Guests of the Water Planet"

- Complete a collaboration with PeerGynt LoboGris that will most probably give birth to a new Rework Series installment (Although I thought that series was over, this one would be the last).

- And I'm finishing the compillation album after which I'll take a break from composing and releasing music for some time.

I'll keep you updated of any of these releases.

Ear3: Guests of the Water Planet

Después de mucho tiempo y bastante trabajo, presentamos el nuevo tema de Ear3: "Guests of the Water Planet". Seguramente el tema más arriesgado que hemos grabado hasta ahora, por muchos motivos. Uno de ellos es que por primera vez nos atrevemos a entrar tímidamente en el jazz.

After a long lapse and quite a lot of work, we present to you the latest Ear3 track: "Guests of the Water Planet". Probably our more risky theme so far, for many reasons. One of them is we dare, for the first time, to shyly enter into jazz music.

Ear3: "The Encounter"

¡ Por fín está aqui ! El nuevo tema de Ear3 se llama "The Encounter" y acaba de ser publicado en Jamendo. Un tema con muchos cambios y con el mismo carácter progresivo de los temas anteriores. Que lo disfruteis.

It's finally here! Ear3's new track is called "The Encounter" and it has just been released in Jamendo. A track with lots of changes and the same proggy feel as the previous tracks. Enjoy it.

Trabajo en marcha / Work in progress

Actualmente estoy trabajando en tres proyectos diferentes:

• El nuevo tema de Ear3, que ha compuesto Gael y para el que estoy grabando pistas
• Una colaboración para un nuevo tema de PeerGynt LoboGris del que no quiero dar muchos detalles para que los de él en su blog
• El primero de los tres álbumes que os anuncié quiero publicar este año. Va bastante avanzado y contaré con alguna colaboración. Os iré contando más muy pronto.

Right now I'm working in three different projects:

• The new Ear3 number, composed by Gael, for which I'm recording tracks.
• A collaboration for a brand new track by PeerGynt LoboGris, from which I don't want to reveal much so he can do in his blog
• The first of the three albums I announced you I want to release this year. It's doing pretty well and I'll be getting some nice collaborations. I'll be telling you more very soon.

... y pensando en 2010 / ... and thinking of 2010

Pues aquí está mi última entrada del año, para contar brevemente mis planes musicales para 2010 (Planes que, como siempre, supongo que irán cambiando sobre la marcha).

Para empezar, hay tres álbumes que serán mis próximos proyectos, tras los cuales creo que me tomaré un pequeño descanso. Con ello quiero decir que no aprovecharé cada rato libre para la música, como he hecho hasta ahora, sino que me dedicaré a ver películas, series, leer algún libro... Cientos de cosillas que tengo aparcadas a la espera del momento oportuno. De manera que la música volverá, pero sin prisas y cuando ella quiera.

Los tres álbumes serán: Uno de música 100% electrónica, con loops, samples y un carácter algo parecido al "Life in Bitville", aunque seguramente algo más "bailable", si se puede decir así. Otro contendrá versiones regrabadas y arregladas de algunos de mis primeros temas que creo que merecen una segunda oportunidad, en la línea de lo que hice con "El Último Peldaño". Por último, para completar esta etapa, un tercer álbum con temas y versiones que se han ido quedando fuera de mis álbumes por distintas razones, así como temas que he ido cediendo a proyectos de Jamendo. Y después, el descansito.

Además de ésto, Ear3 sigue adelante y seguiremos publicando más música en 2010.

Espero que en 2010 sigais allí para que todo ésto tenga algún sentido. Muchas gracias por vuestro apoyo.

Here you have this year's last post, to tell you my musical plans for 2010 (Which, I guess, will be changing as we go, as usual).

As a start, there are three albums that will be my next projects, after which I'll take a small break. With this I mean I won't be using each and every free second I have to play and record music, but instead to see films, TV series, read some books, etc. Lots of small things I've been leaving aside waiting for the right moment. So, music will be back, but not hurrying it... Just when music itself decides it.

Those three albums will be: One made of 100% electronic music, with loops, samples and a similar mood to "Life in Bitville", but probably a bit more "danceable", if I may use the word. Another one will contain new versions of some of my first themes, which I think deserve a second chance, much as I did with "El Ultimo Peldaño". And last but not least, a third album with tracks and versions that have been getting out of my released albums for one reason or another, as well as tracks I've lended for several multi-artist projects in Jamendo. And after that, the forementioned break.

Apart from that, Ear3 goes on and we expect to be releasing new music in 2010.

And so I expect you all will be there on 2010 to bring meaning to all this. A huge "thank you" for your support.

Recordando 2009... / Recalling 2009...

Como hice el año pasado, resumo a continuación todo lo que ha dado de sí 2009 en cuanto a mi producción musical. Para empezar, este año publiqué tres álbumes propios:

Mirando atrás, lo que más me gusta de estos álbumes es lo diferentes que son. Ya sabeis que intento siempre no repetirme y sorprender a quienes me hacen el favor de seguirme.

Además de los tres álbumes, 2009 ha sido el año de las colaboraciones. He colaborado en cuatro proyectos de distinto modo: Tocando teclados con Blue Spirits II, aportando sendos temas inéditos para Babel Sin Fronteras y Free Guitars 2, e incluso un pequeño solo de piano (¡flamenco!) en Free Guitars 1.

También fue éste el año de Ear3, el grupo virtual que formamos PeerGynt LoboGris, Gael Berthon, BlondBlood y un servidor, y que ha publicado tres temas de corte prog-rock:

La verdad es que para un año creo que no está nada mal. Además, PeerGynt LoboGris diseñó un logo que me permitió cambiar las portadas de todos mis álbumes de modo que sea fáciles de reconocer, y que seguiré usando en el futuro.

Para acabar, abrí mi propio canal de YouTube, en el que incluí, como no podía ser de otro modo, la animación que Butcho preparo con fragmentos de "El Astronauta".

En resumen, ha sido un gran año, gracias a todos vosotros, y me siento muy agradecido y satisfecho. En el último post de este año os hablaré de mis plantes para 2010.

As I did last year, I go to summarize all 2009 has brought in terms of my music. As a start, I released three new albums:

Looking back, what I like the most about those albums is how different they are. You know I try not to repeat myself and surprise those who honour me by following my work.

Apart from that, 2009 was the year of collaborations. I contributed to four projects in several ways: Playing keyboards for Blue Spirits II, lending two unreleased tracks for Babel Sin Fronteras and Free Guitars 2, and even with a little piano solo ( flamenco!) in Free Guitars 1.

This also was the year of Ear3, the virtual group formed by PeerGynt LoboGris, Gael Berthon, BlondBlood and myself, which has released three prog-rock tracks so far:

I honestly think it's not bad at all for one year. Besides, PeerGynt LoboGris designed a new logo which allowed me to change all my old album covers so they are easier to recognise, and which I'll keep on using in the future.

To finish, I opened my own YouTube channel, in which I included Butcho's fantastic animation made from excerpts of "The Astronaut".

In sum, it's been a great year because of your support, and I feel really grateful and satisfied. In my last 2009 post I'll tell you my plans form 2010.

Ear3 - "Orbital Ellipses"

Ear3 acaba de publicar su nuevo tema: "Orbital Ellipses". Se trata de un homenaje a grandes grupos del rock progresivo clásico: Pink Floyd, Marillion (Y por tanto Genesis), King Crimson... Estoy muy contento con el resultado, y más teniendo en cuenta que en esta ocasión he producido el tema y he tenido un papel más importante en la composición.

El tema incluye samples del discurso "lunar" de John F. Kennedy del 25 de Mayo de 1961, así como del despegue del transbordador Challenger del 28 de Enero de 1986, que acabó con la explosión del mismo y la muerte de sus tripulantes.

Mi objetivo ahora es acabar mi nuevo álbum antes de 2010.. ¿lo lograré?

Ear3 has just released their new song: "Orbital Ellipses". It's a tribute to great classic prog-rock groups: Pink Floyd, Marillion (Which means Genesis), King Crimson... I'm very happy with the result, more knowing in this ocasion I've produced the track, and I played a more prominent role in the composition.

The track includes samples from the infamous "moon" speech by John F. Kennedy from May 25th 1961, as well as from the launching of the Space Shuttle Challenger on January 28th 1986, wich ended with the explosion of the shuttle and the death of all the astronauts.

My objective now is to finish my next album before 2010.. Will I make it?

Nuevo single de Ear3 / New Single by Ear3

Se acaba de publicar el segundo single de nuestro grupo virtual Ear3, en la línea de rock progresivo del anterior tema. El título es "The Explorers". Personalmente me parece mejor tema que el primero.

En esta ocasión, a Lobo, Gael y a mí se nos ha unido Blond Blood a la batería y percusiones.

Pronto añadiré otra entrada al blog para explicaros cosas del próximo álbum en el que estoy trabajando.

The second single from our virtual group Ear3 has just been released. It follows the prog-rock path of the previous single. Its title is "The Explorers". I personally like it a lot more than the first one.

This time, Lobo, Gael and me have been joined by Blond Blood, who plays drums and percusions.

Nuevo Proyecto: Ear3 / New Project: Ear3

Era cuestión de tiempo que Lobo, Gael y yo volviésemos a trabajar juntos. Después del proyecto abortado de Blue Spirits - Chapter II, allá vamos otra vez con Ear3, un proyecto de música experimental y progresiva, rock, por supuesto. La formación oficial queda así:

PeerGynT LoboGris: Guitars, Drums machine, Compositor.

Nuestra idea es ir trabajando sin prisas en temas sueltos e ir publicándolos como singles. Y la tarjeta de presentación, este tema.

It was about time that Lobo, Gael and me worked together again. After the ill-fated Blue Spirits - Chapter II project, there we go again with Ear3, an experimental and prog-rock aproject. Line-up so far is :

PeerGynT LoboGris: Guitars, Drums machine, Compositor.
